Just as you need rest after a whole day of exertion and running around, your feet need rest too. Since they bear the brunt of all your weight and carry you around everywhere, they need more rest and care, as compared to any other part of your body.

At Joseph Stuto, DPM, we remind our patients to take a break and let your feet relax as well. Here are a few useful tips that will re-energize your feet:

  • Elevate your feet: This is extremely beneficial, especially after a long day of standing or walking around endlessly. Keeping your feet raised will ease the pressure that they have been sustaining throughout the day and improve blood circulation as well.
  • Let your feet free: Remove your socks and shoes and stretch your feet and toes. Wiggling your toes and pushing your feet forward will relax them.
  • Soak your feet in warm water: Adding a little soap or salt to the warm water will relax your feet and soothe any inflammation near your ankles. You can also visit a foot spa for a soaking and massage routine. Make sure you check their utensils for cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Wear supportive footwear: the best gift you can give to your feet is comfortable shoes that provide adequate support to your heels and arches. With a firm grip, your feet will be more stable and secure.

If your feet are hurting or you feel discomfort in your day to day activities, feel free to consult with our expert, Dr. Joseph Stuto, who will conduct a thorough examination of your feet and identify any issues that you may be facing. Proper diagnosis and treatment are essential for healthy feet. To schedule an appointment, call us today or visit our offices in Brooklyn Heights (718) 624-7537 and Brooklyn (718) 567-1403, New York.
